DROPCENTS Interview with COMON CENTS

Q1. How did you come up with the name “Comon Cents”?

We originally were going to call the company Common Sense. We realized that in the media, and in politics, things weren’t really piecing together. Decisions were being made irrationally and without much thought behind them. We decided to put a twist on our name to make it seem like we didn’t have any common sense ourselves to make fun of whats going on out there.

Q2. What inspired you to get into the clothing business?

Comon Cents was created originally to unite up-and-coming (as well as famous) artists under one roof to discuss new ideas and publicize new work. James and I have really been trying to get art back into education and thought of the idea of using our love for style to start up a clothing line to go along with the site as well as benefit schools that are not fortunate enough to have the funding for an art program. A portion of our proceeds will be going to aid schools in need of art supplies.

Q3. As you were growing up, did you think that you were going to be in this business?

We both knew we were going to do something big, but had no idea what that might be. Clothing really just fit the picture. It was something both of us new and had a passion for so we decided why not do somethingwe enjoy for a living (you only have one try at life so why not take a risk).

Q4. What makes “Comon Cents” stand out from all the other companies?

Comon Cents is not just a clothing company, it is a movement. We want kids to stay positive, educated and creative. Aside from our designs, Comon Cents is really a company that wants to motivate the youth to get out and do something with their lives, something that they love and enjoy. We want to give back. We wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the art programs and artists that inspired us.

Q5. Is there something you want everyone out there to know about the company?

We have arrived, and there is nothing that is going to stop us. Don’t just show love for our company, show love for the idea behind it.

Q6. What do you see for the future of “Comon Cents” & is there anything we should be looking out for?

We hope that in the future we will be able to contribute far more to the art culture. We plan on getting much more of a selection as we are new and just starting to gain some momentum. Be patient and we will not disappoint you.
